ODM and sample-based customisation

Built to your drawing, coated to your colour

Custom manufacturer means the drawing comes first: steel sections are selected against your load, then the run is scheduled. Sample units are available before the first production batch.

What can be changed

Eight things are set by you, not by a catalogue

A stock model fixes all eight at once. On a custom run each one is set against your load, your space or your packing, and written onto the drawing before anything is cut.

01

Bay dimensions

Width, depth and height come off your drawing, or off a photo with two measured dimensions. Nothing is rounded up to a stock size.

02

Upright section

Frame section and steel thickness are chosen against the total bay load, so a heavy tier does not borrow the section of a light one.

03

Beam profile

Beam height follows the load carried per pair of beams. Where pallet clearance is tight, a step beam buys back height.

04

Level pitch

Levels adjust on the upright, but the hole pitch is fixed on the line. It is set once, against your tallest carton or pallet.

05

Shelf deck

Steel panel, slatted, wire mesh or a plain shelf, chosen for what actually sits on it — cartons, loose parts or a pallet.

06

Finish

Powder coat matched to a RAL reference or to the sample you send. Galvanised where the air is wet rather than painted over.

07

Accessories

Dividers, bin boxes, end guards, corner protectors, label holders and bay numbering, fitted before packing rather than shipped loose.

08

Packing and marks

Bundled for container loading or palletised for your own warehouse, with your item code and shipping marks on every bundle.

Three ways an order starts

You do not need a CAD file to get a drawing back

Most enquiries arrive as one of these three. Each one returns the same thing — a bay schedule you can check before production — so the entry point matters less than it looks.

01

From a drawing

Best when — a project that is already engineered

You send
DWG, DXF, STEP or a PDF with dimensions. A paper sketch with three measurements works too.
You get back
A bay schedule, the load chart per level, and a note on anything in the drawing we would change before cutting.
02

From a photograph

Best when — a stockroom or a bay you want to fill

You send
One photo of the space, its width and height, and what you need to store.
You get back
A layout proposal at your clear height, with the count of bays and levels and the aisle you would keep.
03

From an existing spec

Best when — comparing suppliers, or repeating a tender

You send
Your current item list, an Alibaba listing, or a tender schedule with the sizes already written down.
You get back
The same table returned item by item, with our section, load rating and finish against each line.
The line that builds your drawing

Six stations, one roof, no subcontracted profile

Cutting, punching, forming, bending, welding and coating run in sequence inside the same building. That is what makes a change to your drawing a change on the line, rather than a re-order from a third party.

Nothing is cut before the drawing is approved

01

Enquiry

Send the load, the footprint and the quantity. A photo of the space is enough to start.

02

Drawing

We return a layout drawing with bay sizes, levels and load ratings for your approval.

03

Sample

Sample units for size, colour and finish checks before the production run.

04

Production

Roll forming, welding, powder coating and packing, in batches against the approved drawing.

05

Loading

Flat-packed, palletised and container-loaded with a packing list per container.

Engineering support

Send what you have — a sketch is enough

Photos of the space, a hand sketch with dimensions, a CAD file or an existing drawing all work. We return bay sizes, levels and load ratings, and flag anything in the space that would block installation.

Documents that come with the order

Five documents, issued before the container is booked

Every custom order leaves with the same set. If your bank, your customs broker or your installer asks for one of them later, it is on file under the order number.

The line that builds it
Steel coil storage
Cold-rolled coil held indoors under the crane; thickness and grade checked against the mill certificate on receipt.
Decoiling
Coil loaded on the uncoiler and pulled through a straightener before the strip reaches a line.
Cutting
Sheet and plate cut on the plasma table and the shear, to lengths taken from the approved drawing.
Punching
Turret punch for the hole pattern in uprights and the slots in shelf profiles; the pitch set here is what makes a level adjustable.
Roll forming
Uprights, beams and shelf edges formed from strip; a heavier section is run on the same line when the load calls for it.
Bending
Press brake work for brackets, corner plates and parts that are not a rolled profile.
Welding
Frame and bracket welding by hand at fixed stations, inspected before coating.
Pre-treatment and coating
Degrease, pre-treat, electrostatic powder, then the oven; uprights hang on an overhead conveyor so the full section is coated.
Packing
Film-wrapped and steel-strapped bundles, palletised by order against the packing list.
Custom orders, answered plainly

Six questions that come up before the first drawing

What is the smallest custom order?

Shelving starts at ten pieces per size. Pallet racking is quoted per bay, and a run under ten bays is usually cheaper taken from a standard bay size than from a drawing. We will say so rather than quote it.

Which file formats can you work from?

DWG, DXF, STEP and PDF, plus photographs with dimensions or a sketch on paper. If the only file you have is a scan of a hand drawing, that is enough to start.

Do I see a sample before the production run?

Yes. A sample unit is built for size, colour and finish, and photographed under daylight before the batch is released. Production starts from the approved sample, not from the drawing alone.

Can you match our brand colour?

Send a RAL number or a physical sample. The powder is matched to it, then a coated part is photographed next to the sample for your approval, because screen colour is not a match.

What happens if a new die is needed?

Standard profiles run on tooling we already hold. If your section needs a dedicated die, it is quoted as a separate line, made once, and kept for repeat orders on that part.

How is a custom order packed for sea freight?

Bundles are film-wrapped and steel-strapped, then palletised or loaded loose against a container plan. Long uprights are bundled to the container length so nothing is cut to fit.

Tell us the constraint, not the part number

Load per layer, available height, aisle width and quantity are enough for a first drawing. Attach a file if you have one.

Drawings or specification

Files are not uploaded by this form yet — we will ask for the drawing in our reply.

Typical reply: one business day. Every enquiry is answered with a drawing and a written quotation. We record the page you wrote from and your IP address only to answer this enquiry and filter spam.
